 A large dinner at a majestic old home: wood paneling, sumptuous service, long table. A great, grand man is there: that man is myself. There is some kind of conflict among the women at the dinner - perhaps fighting over me. The hostess carries a special dish down the stairs to serve to the others, but I demand my share. I look out the window into a great forest, wild and mysterious, and feel sublimely free. I stand looking into the darkness, thinking of a lover I want to hold from long, long ago...
 At the print shop, sitting across from a woman I didn't recognize; blonde, seemed to work there. "You know Pam is upset that you guys broke up," she says and I say I know that. Annie walks by, with Pam, and I feel spurned. Then I notice Satterfield working a press. "Guess who that is?" the blonde asks. I go over to greet him, feeling elated to see him again. But he ignores me, talking to the two women, his back turned...
 Tony and Rob and I walk in the square of a small Baja town on a warm summer evening. Families and youths stroll by. We stop at a foodstand, all drunk, and joke that the vendor looks just like Clark Gable. He grins and says something. Tony translates, "he wants to take you up to his room," and giggles nervously. I suddenly notice the pared head of a cooked pig staring up at me...
