	this was my first intensive painting: it took several days to finish and the effort shows. years later a painter friend requested it as a memento and i sent it to her. the painting process is described here in detail. when i did this painting i discovered that painting is touching something with my materials, my hands, my eyes and my heart — the process of admiring and responding to the subject is transformed into the process of really looking at it and creating it in paint.
